Attorney Marc C. Saperstein represented a man who was hit by a vehicle at a gas station in Bergen County and suffered serious injuries. A Mercedes was illegally pulling out of the station on Gorge Road in Cliffside Park, when it hit a Nissan going southbound on Gorge Road. The Nissan swerved to miss the Mercedes, and ended up driving into the gas station, where it ultimately slammed into the victim, who was standing between his Toyota and the pump station. The force pinned the man against the car, crushing his left leg.
The impact caused the man severe and permanent crush injuries to multiple parts of his body, including a fracture to his left ankle. He underwent emergency surgery, including the implantation of surgical devices. Doctors went as far as contemplating the amputation of his left leg, but were eventually able to save it. As a result of the accident, he was awarded $1,016,666.00.
