Pequannock Motorcycle Accident Leaves One Dead

Rolin Ganthier, of Jamaica Queens was killed instantly when his motorcycle collided with a pick-up truck on Route 23 in Pequannock this past weekend. According to the North Jersey Record, witnesses said Ganthier was traveling at an “excessive speed” when he rode into oncoming traffic.

Ganthier was on a 2007 Yamaha motorcycle traveling north on Route 23 when he crossed the center lane and entered the southbound traffic. The driver of a Chevy Avalanche saw Ganthier speeding towards him and tried to turn into a driveway to avoid collision. Ganthier hit the truck on the driver’s side causing a minor hand injury to the driver, and his own death.

The accident is still under investigation, according to the Pequannock Police Department, who is being assisted by the Morris County Sherriff’s office.
