Garry R. Salomon Esq.Garry Salomon is the author of a book titled “The Consumer’s Guide to New Jersey Personal Injury Claims”. The book is a 141-page guide for people injured by a car accident or who suffered injuries from a fall. The book is available in English, Korean and Polish and has a glossary of definitions of terms commonly used in personal injury cases, as well as a very handy appendix. The appendix
includes the New Jersey Police Accident Report Grid, and summaries of New Jersey law pertaining to the Limited Tort, Wrongful Death, and the New Jersey Contingent Fee Court Rule.

Garry most particularly enjoys the courtroom environment and concentrates on bringing his cases to the trial stage. He is quoted as saying, “An insurance company will only consider paying fair and just compensation only if they see that the plaintiff is ready to let a jury decide the case; however, if an insurance company is unwilling to deal fairly with the plaintiff, then I trust a jury to decide the outcome.” He believes that if a case is properly prepared for trial, it will likely result in a favorable out of court settlement.

Garry has developed a deep understanding of trauma medicine, especially injuries regarding the brain and spinal such as quadriplegia, disc herniations and fractures. He also has a passion for representing injured children, since their injuries are often unique, as a “pediatric injury lawyer.”

Mr. Salomon is “Certified as a Civil Trial Attorney by the Supreme Court of New Jersey” an honor bestowed upon less than 2% of all New Jersey lawyers. He has earned several other accolades in recognition of his legal accomplishments and devotion to his clients. The organization National Trial Lawyers has named him one of the “Top 100 Trial Lawyers,” and 201 Magazine has listed him as one of “Bergen’s Top Trial Lawyers.”   In addition to being recognized for 15 years as a “SuperLawyer” by Thomson Reuters Corporation in its annual SuperLawyers list, he has been recognized by Martindale Hubble, a highly respected and reputable attorney peer review rating organization by conferring upon him an “AV” rating which is their highest rating possible for an attorney.

For over 25 consecutive years, Garry has been a member of the Board of Governors of the New Jersey Association for Justice (NJAJ) and contributes twice a year to legal conferences and seminars. In 1998 he founded as co-moderator and co-chairman the “Litigation at Sunrise” Meadowlands and Boardwalk Seminars sponsored by NJAJ.

Some of Garry’s past speaking engagements included “Summation: Bringing it Home.” In conjunction with the seminar, the New Jersey Lawyer Magazine published an article by Mr. Salomon with the same title. He also formerly served as Chairman and program chair of the New Jersey Association for Justice Trial Academy, during which he lectured on “The Art of Direct Examination”. He has lectured on topics such as Cross Examination, Motorcycle Accidents, Adding Value to Personal Injury Cases, Direct Examination of Chiropractors, Ethics, Evidence, and Deposition Practice.

Garry R. Salomon was born and raised in Bergen County, New Jersey, which is where he also met his future partners, Samuel L. Davis and Marc C. Saperstein. After graduating Bergenfield High School, Mr. Salomon attended Fairleigh Dickinson University and received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1974. In 1977, he received his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Akron School of Law and began practicing law after he was admitted to the New Jersey Bar.

Outside of the office, Mr. Salomon can be found playing his Les Paul guitar, practicing martial arts, skiing, boating, and spending time with his family.

Garry R. Salomon can be reached in case of emergency or for a new matter on his cell phone at  (201) 692-4444 or via email at garry.salomon@dsslaw.com. All new matter consultations and second opinion consultations about personal injury cases are free.
